Carpenter with Construction Skills

Segale Properties, a mid-sized commercial real estate company, is hiring a full-time Carpenter to join our team!

The Carpenter will use woodworking and construction skills to build and repair various structures and equipment, and complete other facilities maintenance activities as needed. Responsibilities include: 

  • Collaborate with supervisors and coworkers to review work orders, prints, and sketches, to understand the structure that needs to be built or repaired.
  • Build, dismantle, and repair structures, walls, roofs, glass, floors, siding, and finish work as assigned.
  • Safely operate a wide variety of hand and power tools to complete a job.
  • Read and interpret measurements and angles accurately using solid basic math skills.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
  • Troubleshoot various maintenance and repair issues as they arise.
  • Adaptable to day-to-day changes in work assignments, work location, and be able to occasionally work at Eastern Washington locations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
  • Extensive (ideally 10+ years) hands-on experience with carpentry, particularly some experience with finish carpentry.
  • Able to perform physically demanding daily work, including lifting up to 60 pounds, bending and turning without limitations, and completing precise tasks using hands/fingers with eye-hand coordination, and work indoors and outside as needed.
  • Effective written, drawing, and verbal communication skills to understand and communicate project specifications in English.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Proven punctual and reliable attendance.

Location/Work Schedule:

  • The position is based out of our main office in Tukwila, WA.
  • Regular schedule is Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (generally 7:00AM-3:30PM), with occasional overtime.
